A Legacy...
In the rolling hills of the Northern Ozarks, JB Cattle Company was started. It was built on heritage of four generations of cattle producers in this unique area. Blessed with an abundance of forage but cursed with weather extremes and fescue fungus, we have adapted our genetics and our management skills to not only survive but prosper in this environment.

A family owned operation, we continually monitor our genetic progress not only by harvest data but also by various measures of maternal excellence. A true labor of love,
JB Cattle Co has grown to an operation of over 2000 cows and 600 bred heifers. We continue to strive by way of an intensive AI program to infuse new and improved genetics into our operation on a yearly basis.

John & Colleen Barnhart
John & Colleen Barnhart
Born and raised in Vienna, John Barnhart started JB Cattle Company in 1977. As a fourth generation cattle producer, John continues the tradition while innovating the herd and the business . "I have a passion for this profession along with the duties of being a Husband, Dad and Papa to my family."

Joe Barnhart is the fifth generation producer that continues the legacy by applying management to the brand so it can continue to span generations. He enjoys spending family time with his wife Kelly and daughters Adalyn and Brinley.
Michael & Katie Hern and sons
Michael & Katie Hern and sons
Michael and Katie Hern, and sons Ethan and Grant, also continue the legacy. They are a vital part of production of top angus cattle using the same genetics and management protocol on their operation in Lone Jack, MO.
